Peel Region provides temporary development charge (DC) grants-in-lieu of DCs for eligible new residential developments.

Peel Region will reduce the total DCs payable for an eligible residential development by a grant equal to 50 per cent of the payable DCs. Certain residential units within new rental housing developments may be eligible for grants-in-lieu of DCs up to 100 per cent.

Peel Region will close the DC Grant on November 13, 2026.

Developers must apply for the grant. The program’s objective is to improve housing affordability for home buyers.
